Kenny and I made a pact to play Pebble Beach for our 50th birthdays. He was 50 in April and my day was in May. We had to postpone past the dates because we both had a couple of committments. Su and I lived in Florida at the time. When we got back from a business trip Mrs Hickey, Paula's mom, called to tell me the sad news. What was as bad was that Kenny was buried near his Mom in Florida about 30 minutes from where we lived. I could have ,and more so should have, been there. I will always feel like I let Mr. Erickson down.

Ramona mentioned how nice Ken's folks were. If you entered Mrs. Erickson's house, hungry or not, you were fed an Itailian feast of one form or another. I can still smell the kitchen

Thank you for sharing about Kenny, and Rick and the others. I feel closer to them for the wonderful memories and stories you have given to us.  If there is one thing I think we have all faced is just how fragile life is. I'm so appreciative for my high school friends and the life we lived growing up together in such "understandable" times.  Each memory enriches my lilfe. Thanks again.

Ken Erickson!  What a good looking and nice guy, great athlete. Went to the movies once with him.  I didn't know he was a good dancer Ramona!  Nor did I know you two were on that show.  I used to watch it, my sister Beverly was on there once too. Thanks for sharing these memories with us!

My Memories of Ken center on the athletic fields we shared.  Where it was Football, Basketball or Baseball, even though he obviously stood out at Rich East and beyond, for those few of us who share those sports with him, “ his team mates" , "I myself" never felt he portrayed anything other that an sense of humility, support and friendship to everyone. As with most, I wish I knew him better as many of you have.

Junior year Ken and I were in Rod Taylor's English class together. I sat right in front of Mr. Taylor and Ken sat somewhere behind me. It was the time when the guys were bringing water pistols to school and squirting everyone. Mr. Taylor had told them to cease and desist this game, but to no avail. One day I was the first one to arrive in class and as I sat down in front of Mr Taylor and he put his finger to his lips and said quiet. Meanwhile he pulled a fire extinguisher from behind his desk. He looked toward the door and when Ken walked in he let him have it. We all laughed our heads off and Ken had the sense of humor to laugh too. It seems to me that was the year of great water fight at Somonauk Park!  Too bad Rod Taylor wasn't there so Ken could get his revenge.

I remember the great water fight at Somonauk Park.  A group of girls showed up with squirt guns thinking the boys were going to do the same.  Instead the boys had fire extinquishers and big squirt guns.  Kenny Erickson was in that group of boys.  All the girls were drenched and ended up at Dierdre's house drying off.

I knew Ken from 5th grade thru Rich East. My funniest memory with him was from the back of Miss Morner's senior English class. We were quietly chuckling about something, and she heard us. OOPS! We were very embarrassed when she angrily asked us "what is both of your role is in this class?" Well, I went on to enjoy the course, and actually got an A in it...not sure how Ken fared, ha ha. Anyway, Ken was a lot of fun, and I enjoyed knowing him!

Ken was always a class act.  From parties in Jr. High at my house right up to the last reunion I saw him at.  He always treated me and others respectfully and friendly.  I remember his Dad giving me a ride home and discussing Ken.  Even in Jr. High  he was the most popular kid in school.  I actually felt good with his good natured teasing I received from him.  He is missed by everyone.

I remember Ken as being a great friend and some great things we did together. There are some things I remember about Ken but I remeber the time I tied to cacth a pass from him. He almost took my hand off. Such a great friend.
