Howie was my neighbor and best friend from 5th grade thru HS at Richn East. We went to our first year of college together at U. of Arizona. When I returned from Viet Nam in 1970, I learned of his death from my family. All of the good times we had are still in my memory.
So sorry to hear of Howie's passing. I remember (at least I think I remember) taking a "road" trip senior year with Howie, Tad Swenson, Tom Tassio, Mark Carter and probably some others to the Indiana or Michigan dunes where Mark's parents had a place. Yeh, Mark got in trouble.
My condolences. There are people you remember always, even if you only had classroom contact with them. Howie was one of those people. I remember him as bright and funny. I was thinking about him as I was going through the '62 or '63 yearbook the other day, and thought that he looked so young...and wondered how he was. I'm glad that the announcement had a photo of when he was older. He will be missed, even by people with only an acquaintanceship.
