I knew Clyde Swanson long before high school. When we were kids we used to call him PeeWee which he probably didn't like very much. I haven't heard anything about him since high school does anyone know where he lived. I don't believe he was at any of the reunions that Jim and I were at. If anyone has any information please let me know. Yes I was friends with his sister Mary as well

Clyde was in my class at Saint Irenaeus, knew him pretty well back then. He was always the shortest boy in our class when the nuns lined us up by height which is how he became PeeWee.

He went to SIU, stayed in Carbondale.  I used to see him occasionally when I returned to school there years later. He'd gotten into real estate, seemed to be doing well. Had a hobie-cat somewhere, went to competitions. Called him PeeWee, could tell he didn't like it, stopped.

Lost touch after I left Carbondale in the early 80s. He was on Facebook, apparently he'd retired to Florida, but the page has been taken down already.

Bonnie, I remember Mary, she was in my sister Cathy's REHS 1967 class. Were there more siblings? Used to be other kids around when I visited. And there was a rabbit pen in his backyard, raised them for profit I think. He had a paper route, maybe the Daily News where my father worked.

A good guy, will miss him.

I,too, remember Clyde from our days at St. Irenaeus.  He was funny and kind. It made me tear up at the news of his passing.

My mother was a good friend of his mother. I remember Mother told me there were lots of children in the family. Not sure how many. One time Mother asked her how she handled so many. She replied that once you have the first 4 or 5 it's easy. I didn't know him well, but he had a great smile.

Pee Wee was a friend of mine since 1955 . He lived 2 blocks behind the playground at St. Irenaeus and I would go over to his home and hang out as gradeschoolers . We played catch practicing for Park Forest Little League . We both made 1st string as 7 year olds on the team that Paul Levy's Dad coached . We were both Altar Boys and Crossing Guards .
After High School Pee Wee went down to Miami , Fla taking a job a masseuse for two years at the Fountainblue Hotel . Pee Wee told me that he had about a dozen Jewish women clients there who paid him $10 per hour plus tips - Big Money back then ! He dated one of their daughters - Good Stories . I lost track of him in the 70's . He had an older brother who was less adventurous.
So sorry that he left us .

Sorry to hear of Clyde's passing.  I know he went to SIU in Carbondale with me and Bob Peele.  I kind of lost track of him down there.  I remember  when I was a freshman Clyde was the only boy shorter than me...but by the end of the school year he was a few inches taller than me so I couldn't call him PeeWee any more. My condolences to his family.

PeeWee and I were good friends at Rich and was always a lot of fun to be around.  I remember one night we saved the price of admission for a dance at "another" high school by climbing through a bathroom window.  It took a bit of maneuvering by all to help him through because his broken arm was still in a cast.  He was always up for a bit of fun.....and, Clyde was my size, as Tony observed.  To be missed.  Condolences to his family.
