Claudia was one of the good guys. Always. She was part of the St Irenaeus cadre and, as an eigth grader, was chosen to crown the Blessed Virgin - an honor that usually went to a special person and which Claudia deserved. She was smart, kind, lots of fun, and interesting. We had a deep and loving bond through High School. She cheered the Pink Dinasaurs, and was a member of our select group of Tu Fungs. I still miss her.

Hincker, not "Hinkler" and Claudia was my first love in high school. We were almost Sophomores and we met at the 4th of July festivities in Central Park. I guess we were "going steady" as we used to call it. She was one of the sweetest girls I have ever met. We went to the Homecoming Dance together too. It was the first "dress-up" occasion for me and we had dinner at Michelberry's (sp?) at the Park Forest Shopping Center. My Dad drove us there and then to the dance. It was fun. Later I had a $15 Chevy (yes $15) and me and Claudia would drive around in it. One time my battery died in her driveway and I had to call my Dad at around 11 pm. Yikes!

Claudia's parents and brother, Harvey were super nice too. Her Dad reminded me of the Dad on "Father knows best". I'm not sure why we went our separate ways, but we remained friends through high school. She attended all of our football games. My parents would say....."we saw Claudia at the game today." They really liked her too and I think they were trying to hook us back up again. Funny

I do know that the world is certainly a lesser place without Claudia.

Although we both were at Rich East, I actually got to know her through her dad, Harvey Hincker. My dad ,Mel Equihua, and Mr. Hincker  both worked for the same company in the city, and would carpool together. So that's when I became aware of Claudia going to Rich East.  She was such a beautiful person, I was so sad when my mom told me the news of Claudia's passing, by that time I had moved to California and lost touch.

Claudia and I met at St. Irenaeus and became good friends. We were in a Christmas play together in the third grade. My mother directed it for us because we couldn't come up with any great ideas. Marti Whitman, and Dolly Kauzalrich were also in the production. We were all petrified as we presented it in the basement of the school right before Christmas break. Luckily it was well received. Then we stayed friends in high school. She wrote wonderful letters to me when she went to visit one of her relatives during the summer. In fact I think I still have it. I don't remember meeting her dad, but her mother was also a lovely lady. I was shocked and saddened to hear that she died so young.
