I am so sorry to hear this. Alan was such a positive presence and a really good person. I have great memories of him from high school. Condolences to his family.

I, too, have good memories of Alan Toy.  We first met in the 3rd grade, in Mrs. Smith's class at Blackhawk School. As I recall, he lived on Oakwood Street, not far from Dan Hier. I remember he had an older brother, Larry. I remember visiting in his house.  And I think we might have been in Cub Scouts together. A good guy, sad to hear of his passing.

In 8th grade, the choir performed an abridged version of "H.M.S. Pinafore" by Gilbert and Sulliven.  Two nights ... Alan played piano one of the nights and I did the other.  At our H.S. graduation, Alan played a piano solo.
